Maeve and Jake
Waterworks
Philadelphia, PA
I don’t even know where to start with this day. After their engagement session nearly a full year before their wedding I was so excited to be able to photograph these two again. Their energy together after years and years of knowing each other is so warm and loving - and it goes without saying these two are stunning. But honestly, that’s so secondary to the vibes these two just put out into the air. Fast forward to glorious spring in PA and rains in the forecast, I was incredibly sad for them as I am for every couple because no one wants rain on their wedding day - but I knew we would be okay. Even driving into the city as the clouds started to break up I thought oh shit, maybe we will be outside more than I planned! And then huzzah!! A full 180 and the sun was blasting all day long for them! The secret, possibly paying and Etsy witch, possibly buying a sausage, who knows? But everything- hallelujah… it was perfect weather.
The entire day was filled with big personalties, lots of laughs, the softest white florals, a magical spring breeze off the water, and pops of color and natural finally waking up for the season all around them. We spent the majority of our time very local to their venue because the grounds surrounding Waterworks are so picturesque. I will tell anyone who will listen that a dream date of mine is so just sit outside on the grass and listen to the magic of a wedding pouring out from the tent with my husband and a bottle of wine. It really is such a magical venue and while not in the heart of Philly, it’s just as iconic.
Brown paired with soft greens and whites looked so elegant against the backdrop of the historical stone work and the water. This was truly a day where everything was planned out perfectly and carefully considered by ya girl Maeve. If you haven’t found her already, go follow along on Tik Tok or IG because she is just the sweetest human. Jake, you are a gem among men as well; so happy to just go along with whatever way the wind was blowing us with a smile on your face. While we weren’t there for long into the reception (sometimes it really is just nice to dance carefree) it doesn’t get much more energy packed than a hora to open the dance floor!
Maeve and Jake, I wish you al the best in love and life. You deserve it!
