If the worst thing that happens to you on your wedding day is a little rain, I’d say you’re having a pretty damn good day. Lily and Chris didn’t let the weather bother them, “The weather wasn’t great as it rained the entire day and we were supposed to get married outside. We shifted gears and had the ceremony inside and it worked out. Somethings you just can’t control!”. Honestly the best mentality to have. And with a venue like Elkins with a fool proof rain plan, it would be hard to complain anyway.

So what was their favorite part of the whole day? While I would like to assume it was hanging out with me all day, Chris said, “My favorite part of the day was sitting at the sweetheart table with Lily. It was a time that we were able to talk the two of us while seeing all of our favorite people enjoy themselves.” I think it’s so special at a wedding day to get to see all the people you love and hold dear having the best day celebrating you.

Through all the planning and nerves, Chris also mentioned that the first look with Lily helped to calm him his nerves and I couldn’t agree with this more. I think first looks or reveals or whatever you want to call them are starting to get a bad rep but a hill I’m willing to die on is why wouldn’t you want to spend the whole day with the person your marrying? Don’t get me wrong, the walk down the aisle should still be special for both for you, but the pressure of it can be so taxing on couples throughout the day.

A bit of wedding day advice from Chris and Lily, “It’s YOUR wedding day so do what makes you the most happy. Try your best not to separate as bride and groom throughout the night and take a step back to soak it all in. It’s really amazing seeing all your people in one room.” Preach!! If you’ve already booked with me or I’ve helped you plan your wedding you’ve heard me say it a million times… It’s your wedding day! If it doesn’t make you happy or ease your day, forget about it!
